Welcome to RunFilms.co website!

If you've been following MUT Running, Sage Canaday, or myself, you're probably familiar with our sporadic video releases and coverage of trail-running races and athletes. We are thrilled to introduce you to RunFilms.co, a side project created by MUT Running. Our goal is to become a platform that not only showcases our own content but also promotes talented filmmakers and celebrates endurance athletes who have dedicated their time to creating exceptional media.

When MUT Running was founded by professional trail runners Sage Canaday and Matt Daniels, our primary aim was to increase the visibility of trail running across various distances, from sub-ultras to hundred-milers. We wanted to go beyond training cycles and specific races, focusing on sharing stories that highlight athletes as individuals. To achieve this, we produced engaging trail-running videos, captivating blog articles, and fostered a vibrant message board for the community to connect.

However, over time, we noticed a common issue with running documentaries. Despite the effort put into creating them, these films often have a short shelf-life. They experience an initial surge in viewership when supported by a brand ahead of a race, but they struggle to maintain an audience once the initial social media buzz fades away.

RunFilms.co is our solution to this problem. Our platform aims to extend the shelf-life of running films beyond their initial promotion and provide increased visibility for both athletes and content creators. We want to be a hub where running fans can discover content that resonates with them or features their favorite athletes. Additionally, we strive to empower up-and-coming athletes and content creators by providing tools to build their brand.

Our core objectives with RunFilms.co are as follows:

  • Increase Visibility of Running Films: We shine a spotlight on athletes and content creators, ensuring their exceptional work reaches a wider audience. We strive to keep these productions relevant and accessible long after their initial release and social media plugs.

  • Support Athletes' Brands: We understand the importance of athletes' personal brands. We aim to create a comprehensive platform that showcases not only their running films but also aggregates all of their media appearances. By doing so, we provide a valuable tool for athletes to promote their personal brands and expand their reach.

  • Empower Creators: We are committed to empowering content creators by providing them with a dedicated space to showcase their running-related films. We offer a portfolio-like feature that allows creators to present their work in a professional manner, attracting potential collaborators, sponsors, and a wider audience. By actively supporting and promoting creators, we aim to foster a thriving community of talented individuals who can further elevate the art and storytelling of running films.

While we have already populated the film database with our own productions, we wholeheartedly encourage content creators to submit their own films and become an integral part of this project. Together, we can create a thriving community that celebrates the accomplishments of endurance athletes and the creativity of filmmakers.

If you're a fan of running, we invite you to sign up for an account. By doing so, you'll receive alerts about new films and exciting features on our website, ensuring you never miss out on the latest content.

Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey.

Best,

Stephen Gnoza
